After the first 10,000 pistols were completed, the firm added a suffix letter to ensure that each pistol had a unique serial number. Mauser started over at serial number 1 each time the number 10,000 was reached. Mauser employed a comparable serial numbering system to the one used by Walther. There were two basic versions of this pistol: one made between early 1911 and July 1913, and another, updated version introduced in January 1914. I have questions to him regarding shootability and bore condition. The finish looks pretty good for a 100 year old. The seller says it has a German Imperial Army acceptance stamp and a serial number in the 32000 range. I have an opportunity to purchase an early 1914 Mauser 7.65 with one mag and a holster. This is an all-matching pistol that retains 95-97% of the original blue finish with some mild silvering at the muzzle and along the projecting edges. Mauser Model 1914 Pocket Pistol Description: Serial #230442, 7.65mm (.32 ACP), 3 3/8' barrel with an excellent, bright bore.
